Hong Kong Pavilion at 2020 Pop Up Asia ( 19 - 22 Nov 2020)

A Hong Kong thematic pavilion, supported by the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office, was staged at the 2020 PoP Up Asia between 19 and 22 November. A major feature of this year's pavilion was to promote one of Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage - paper crafting technique. The pavilion displayed several works crafted by Hong Kong’s first female unicorn craftsman who also shared at scene the essence and characteristics of paper crafting technique in Hong Kong, with a view to introducing to Taiwan public the traditional folk customs.

Several workshops, screening on documentaries of Hong Kong writers, and sharing sessions by representatives in the cultural sector from both Hong Kong and Taiwan, etc, were also held at the pavilion. These not only enabled the public to experience the traditional skills and handcraft arts in Hong Kong, but also enhanced their understanding of the changes in cultural industry in the two places.
