Hong Kong lantern area at 2017 Nantou Lantern Festival (21.1.2017 – 19.2.2017)

The Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office (HKETCO) set up a Hong Kong lantern area at the 2017 Nantou Lantern Festival held in Nantou County Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21 January to 19 February, providing alternative means for the public in Taiwan to gain an understanding about Hong Kong. Twenty metres in length, the Hong Kong lantern area presented the culture and customs, specialty food, as well as city icons of Hong Kong to the public in Taiwan. Lanterns of a thematic display entitled “It’s All About Hong Kong” featured in 2016 Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival at the Hong Kong Victoria Park were shipped to Taiwan, redesigned and displayed at the area, along with lanterns enriched with Hong Kong elements designed by lantern artists in Taiwan. Games promoting Hong Kong were also held at the Festival, while Hong Kong delicacies and cultural publications by HKETCO were distributed at the venue.
