In response to allegations by quoting information from Wikipedia that the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office (HKETCO) sponsors a Taiwan group named “Patriot Alliance Association” (“the Alliance”), HKETCO clarifies as follows -
Since HKETCO commenced operation in December 2011, it strives to promote non-governmental exchanges in economic, trade and cultural aspects between Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as to provide assistance and other services to Hong Kong residents and Hong Kong students in Taiwan.
HKETCO clarifies that it has never sponsored “the Alliance” or any other political organisations or institutions in Taiwan. The claim in Wikipedia articles that HKETCO sponsors “the Alliance” is factually incorrect. We have asked Wikipedia to make correction as soon as possible.
